On Friday, the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers will deal with the draft tax changes, which are to enter into force on 1 July this year – said on Thursday Deputy Minister of Finance Artur Soboń.
“We are on the eve of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers. Tomorrow we will talk about this project. I hope that we will accept it and send it to the Council of Ministers,” Soboń said on Polsat News.
“I hope that the Sejm will start working on the draft in the last week of April” – added the deputy minister.

The government presented tax changes on March 24. These changes would apply in the annual settlement for the entire tax year 2022 and in subsequent years, but in advance payments – from July 1 this year.
During the Wednesday press conference Soboń summed up public consultations on the draft changes in taxes. He said then that in his opinion the most important change, which was often raised in the public debate, concerns the possibility of re-choosing the method of settling accounts by entrepreneurs. Soboń announced that in the draft changes there will be a proposal to re-choose the method of taxation in 2022 for entrepreneurs on a flat rate and flat tax.

In line with the solutions proposed by the Ministry of Finance, from July 1 this year, the lower PIT rate is to be reduced from 17 percent. up to 12 percent, the so-called relief for the middle class, and entrepreneurs will be able to exclude health insurance contributions from the tax base. The bill also provides for a return to joint settlement with a child in the case of single parents and an increase in the amount of earnings that a child can achieve without losing tax preferences by parents (from PLN 3,089 to PLN 16,061.28 in 2022).
